Right of withdrawal for digital downloads

This English version is a courtesy translation. In case of any discrepancies, the German version shall prevail.

Important information pursuant to § 356 (5) BGB

Your right of withdrawal expires when you start the download

In short:

Special rules apply to digital downloads. Your right of withdrawal expires as soon as you start the download - this is set out by law.

What does this mean in practice?

Under § 356 (5) BGB, your right of withdrawal expires if:

  1. You start the download - the file is available to you immediately after payment
  2. You have agreed - that we provide the file to you before the 14-day period ends
  3. You have confirmed - that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal

Why? Digital files cannot be "returned" after download - they are fully usable. Without this rule, downloads would effectively be free loans.
