For a few days now, thanks to your help, we've had a little ghost in our lab. He's very curious, bright and sometimes... well... a bit too chatty. But he's definitely bringing a breath of fresh air to our work, and he's already asked more questions than a first-semester philosophy student.
We don't know all that much about him yet, but of course we don't want to keep what we do know from you...
The mysterious newcomer
In case you missed it: after the siege of the "Halloween ghosts", we discovered a mysterious egg in our lab. The ghosts floating through our shop had left it behind, probably as a thank-you for the good energy. Or as a prank. With ghosts, you never really know...
Hundreds of you helped us open this egg. And what hatched? Thinky... A small pink-and-turquoise ghost creature with glasses who immediately started asking us questions nonstop.
His first word? "Mama?"
He hasn't stopped since...
Fact sheet: All about Thinky (what we've found out so far)
Name: Thinky (yes, very creative, but he named himself)
Species: Thought-energy being (or something like that)
Date of birth: November 14, 2025
Size: Small, but his ego, uh, his curiosity is huge
Distinguishing features: Big glasses (which he wears proudly), turquoise and purple coloring, a permanently thoughtful expression
Occupation: Self-appointed "Chief Thinker" and current lab inspector
Relationship status: In a complicated relationship with... thoughts

What does Thinky do all day?
Good question! Since he moved in with us, we've gotten a pretty clear picture of his habits:
6:00 a.m.: Wakes up and immediately asks himself: "Why do I actually think?" (Yes, at 6 in the morning.)

7:30 a.m.: Inspects every synthesizer in the studio and asks whether you can modulate thoughts with a Moog. (Marko's answer is always: No, Thinky. No...)

9:00 a.m.: Listens to different frequencies for hours and keeps up a running commentary. "Ohhh, this 40 Hz gamma wave! Can you feel that too? It's like... like an espresso for your neurons! And now this 7.83 Hz Schumann resonance, that's the frequency of the EARTH! Wild, right? Hang on, I need to hear that again... listens intently ...yep, DEFINITELY earthy. Wait, what happens if I listen to BOTH at the same time?!"

12:00 noon: Philosophizes about lunch break. "Why do we call it midday when it's really just the midpoint between sunrise and sunset and not actually the middle of the day?"

Afternoons: Reads EEG studies, neuroscience papers and... Marvel comics.

Evenings: Plays video games and analyzes EVERYTHING while he's at it. "Why does Mario make that sound when he jumps? Is that a 440 Hz frequency? And why does he collect coins when he never goes shopping anyway? (AND WHY CAN'T I STOP?!")

Nights: Can't sleep because he's thinking about why he can't sleep. A vicious circle.
But he says he'll have a solution for that by December 1, 2026...

His (sometimes annoying) quirks
We love Thinky. We really do! But... he has his quirks:
He questions EVERYTHING. And we really do mean everything.
- "Why is this file called 'Final_Version_3_really_final_this_time'?"
- "Is a cable that doesn't carry any current still a cable?"
- "If I think about nothing, am I thinking about something?"
He forgets that not everyone thinks at his speed. Thinky can have 17 thoughts in 3 seconds. We can't. That leads to some... interesting conversations.
He drops "fun facts". Always. Everywhere. "Did you know your brain uses about 20% of your energy even though it makes up only 2% of your body weight?" "No, Thinky, we didn't know that. For the 17th time today."
He's obsessed with the pineal gland. Seriously. Don't ask him about it unless you've got two hours to spare...
His biggest fears
Yes, even Thinky has fears. And they're... very Thinky:
- Thought standstill: "What if I suddenly had nothing left to think about?!"
- Unanswered questions: An open question is like an itch he can't scratch.
- Boredom: "Boredom is when your brain is underchallenged, and that's... that's... I DON'T EVEN DARE TO THINK ABOUT IT!"
- Being too annoying: (Don't worry, Thinky, you're charmingly annoying!)
Final thoughts (from Thinky, of course)
We asked Thinky if he'd like to add anything to this article. His answer:
"THANK YOU for getting me out of that egg! Honestly, without you I'd still be sitting in that shell wondering WHETHER I exist instead of THAT I exist. Which is SUPER fascinating, by the way, because... wait, am I thinking about thinking right now? Oh man, here we go again...
Anyway! I'm SO excited to get to know all of you! We can research and experiment together, and maybe we'll have an "aha!" moment or two. Or "huh?" moments. Those matter too! (Trust me, I have LOTS of them.)
And when your head gets really FULL sometimes, too many thoughts, too loud, everything tangled up like a synthesizer with 84 open patches, you know what? I GET IT! I pretty much AM that. My head is like a browser with 1,247 open tabs. But hey, together we'll figure out how to deal with it. Promise!
So: see you soon in the lab, in the chat, in the app, in your inbox, on the blog, or... um... where exactly are we all meeting?
Love you all sooo much! ♥️
Your Thinky
P.S.: Did you know that about 100 BILLION neurons in your brain fired while you were reading this article?! ONE HUNDRED BILLION! That's more than... than... okay, I have no idea what to compare it to, but it's A LOT! ISN'T THAT TOTALLY MIND-BLOWING?!
P.P.S.: I was just thinking about why we say "P.S." when we don't really write by hand anymore and... oh, never mind. NEURONS! ONE HUNDRED BILLION!"
P.P.P.S: Oh yeah, thanks again for getting me out of that egg!" Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.... (Marko's note: Okay, that's enough now, Thinky!!!)
